The ASEC Distinguished Alumni awards recognize Purdue ASEC alumni who have achieved outstanding accomplishments, made significant contributions to their professions or to society in general, and exhibit high potential for future professional growth.

Our 2019 ASEC Distinguished Alumni

Scott Stump (B.S., Agricultural Education, 1990) - assistant secretary for career, technical, and adult education for the U.S. Department of Education.

Julia Wickard (B.S., Agricultural Communication, 1993) - assistant commissioner of the Office of Program Support and the agricultural liaison at the Indiana Department of Environmental Management

Nominate a 2020 ASEC Distinguished Alumni

We are now accepting nominations for 2020 ASEC Distinguished Alumni. The nomination deadline is April 13. To nominate an alumnus, please download this nomination form (PDF file).

Selection Criteria

Successful nominees for the Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication (ASEC) Distinguished Alumni Award will have demonstrated excellence in industry, academia, governmental service, or other career endeavors through their leadership, community service, and professional accomplishments.

Nominees will have earned a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Communication, Agricultural Education, or the Purdue University Department of Youth Development and Agricultural Education.

The deadline for submitting a nomination for the 2020 ASEC Distinguished Alumni Awards is Monday, April 13, 2020.

The awards presentation will be Friday, September 18, 2020.
