Nominees will have earned a B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Communication, Agricultural Education, or the Department of Youth Development and Agricultural Education from Purdue University. Nominations for the 2019 Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication (formerly Youth Development and Agricultural Education) Distinguished Alumni Awards are invited until April 15, 2019.
Successful nominees will have demonstrated excellence in industry, academia, governmental service, or other career endeavors as exemplified by their leadership, community service, and professional accomplishments.
Nominations must be submitted by April 15, 2019. The nomination packet should include a completed nomination form, the nominee's vita or resume, and a typed, one-two page letter describing the nominee's accomplishments. This description should include how the nominee contributed significantly to industry, academia, governmental service, or other endeavors as exemplified by leadership, community service and professional accomplishments.
Nominations may be made by any person or group affiliated with the Department of Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication, Purdue University, or any friend, professional colleague, and self-nominations are accepted. Nominations must follow the guidelines stated above.
Individuals selected must be in attendance to receive the award. Awards will be presented annually at the Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication Distinguished Alumni Awards Program, which this year will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019. The award will include a plaque and gift which will be presented to recipients at the awards ceremony. Names of awardees will also be inscribed on the perpetual Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication Distinguished Alumni Award plaque preserved at Purdue in the Department. Awardees will be expected to provide a few words at the ceremony to the Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication faculty, staff, students and friends of the Department.
